Disrupt Winter Eruptions

Whether you are acne prone or not, do not try your summer acne treatments on your winter acne. The two require completely different treatments, and your summer ones would be too harsh for use in winter. Book an Appointment for Acne Treatment Enrich Salons tells you what causes winter acne, and how to lessen or even completely remove them. Read on. Your very summer care routine could be the cause of acne in winter. The cold and dry air could also be to blame. Entering a warm home from a chilled outdoors will cause even greater dryness. Using drying out cleansers will dry out your acne, but will cause your skin to produce even more oil to compensate for it. This oil may clog your cleansed pores and make matters worse. A horrible vicious cycle, right? Wrong. In winter your skin must be dry as well as moisturised to keep away the bacteria that thrive on flaking skin. Contradictory? Not exactly. We will tell you how. Use a gentle cleanser, which will not make your skin dry to the point of harshness. Clean your face once in the morning and once at night, and not more than that. As mentioned above, avoid strong topical acne treatments. They are high in benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, which will dry out your acne but cause your skin to rehydrate and clog pores. You definitely don’t want that as clogged pores only means more acne! Try the milder topical treatments to see if they suit you. Moisturise as you did in summer, but now use light moisturisers. Which will keep the dryness out of your skin and yet not clog your pores. Moisturisers that use natural ingredients tend to be light. If you feel you skin is still too dry, use a slightly heavier moisturiser, but only at night. Book an Appointment for Acne Treatment This might surprise you, but change your pillow cases more often than you did in summer. At least once a week. Maybe more often if you are more acne prone than normal. This is because oil from your skin and hair creates a layer on your pillow cases that can lead to more breakouts. Avoid touching your face often specially if your skin is dry, as this transfers the bacteria from your hands to your face, which thrive on dry skin. Last, but not at all the least, drink plenty of water. No better way to hydrate your skin without clogging pores while keeping your whole body healthy inside...

Who needs nail polish?

Request An Appointment The health of your nails depends on how well your blood is circulating, and what it is circulating. It is also the evidence of how healthy you are overall. So it is very important what you eat. In just trying to keep your nails healthy, unknowingly you will be doing good to your whole body. Unhealthy nails usually have white streaks, spots and ridges. Here’s what they mean and also how to combat it all. White spots and streaks are caused by inadequate sugars. This causes an acid reaction which the body fights with minerals like zinc which it takes from elsewhere. You need to supplement that loss. Vertical lines and ridges indicate your diet is too high in carbohydrates and salts, and too low in proteins and fats. Horizontal lines and indentations are an indication of a change in dietary habits. A long-term balanced raw vegan diet makes these streaks disappear.  Request An...

You hair needs sunscreen too!

Never heard of sunscreen for your hair? That is  because it’s a new concept, and like all good things, it is catching up. Worldwide. Book Your Appointment Intensive research has shown that it is not only your skin that is affected by the Sun. UVA and UVB rays from the Sun damage the cuticles of your hair making it dry, brittle and damaged. It loses its natural moisture and shine, feels itchy, and dandruff appears. You can see for yourself that the top layer gets frizzier and thinner than the parts that are not exposed. Damaged hair breaks easily and becomes unmanageable and unruly. Harmful rays from the Sun break down the proteins in your hair known as keratin. Keratin helps keep your hair hydrated, flexible and healthy. You need to be even more careful about exposing your hair to the Sun if you blow dry your hair, use heated styling tools, dye, perm, or curl. Using an umbrella when you step out will not help as the harmful UV rays penetrate it. A scarf or cap will not protect the hair that is not covered by it. Something that covers the hair completely will certainly help though. But all is not lost. You don’t have to hide your beauty every time you go out. Not with the introduction of sunscreens for your hair, says Enrich Salons. There are many broad spectrum conditioners, lotions, sprays and gels that are easy to use and are light so your hair does not look greasy in the market now. Those containing SPF are specially effective. Try them. Pamper your feet with new treatments

You have often seen cracked heels and dry feet in those ads that appear on TV. While we all see it, very few people take that extra care to look after the feet during winter. Almost all women have cracked heels during winters and as you see women step out in style, very few women have perfectly clean and delicate feet in the fancy footwear at social dos. Winters require special care of feet and you must see that they don’t get dark and develop cracks. We give you ways on how to take care of your feet this winter. Book Signature Foot Spa Soak your feet in lukewarm water Fill a tub with lukewarm water and soak your feet in it. Add a moisturizer or shower gel to the lukewarm water before you soak your feet in it. Sometimes people also add salt to the water if the feet are aching to relax them. Soak them for around 10 minutes. Remove the dry skin The first step towards taking care of your feet is removing the dead skin through a pumice stone when you take bath and keep the dark cracks away. Rub the pumice stone until you can’t see dead skin on your heels. Foot Masks and Scrub While there are hundreds of natural therapies available from your grandmother and spoken about in the books, many people opt for applying overripe bananas, a mixture of olive oil and sugar which help in exfoliating the skin and get rid of dead cells. But before you do this, you should always consult your beautician because not every skin is resistant to all kinds of natural therapies. Moisturising the feet Once you have removed the dead skin and improved blood circulation in the feet in the soaked water, the next step is to nourish the feet with a good moisturizer. Take a thick coat of cream or petroleum jelly or olive oil and apply it firmly on the heels. Some people also mix glycerine, lemon juice and a honey and apply it on the cracked heels and leave it overnight. This will help lighten the scars or cracks and make your feet look beautiful. Book Signature Foot Spa Treatments Enrich Salon’s Signature Foot Spa treatments and Leg Beautifying and Specialized Foot Spa treatments are ideally suited for giving your feet that special care during winters. These treatments provide the ideal foot scrubs and masks required to treat your feet well and let them breathe. The feet get rejuvenated and nourished with these treatments. How To Have Soft Lips in Winter?

How To Have Soft Lips in Winter?

Winter is a season of beauty and pristine purity. Edith Sitwell has eloquently quoted, “Winter is the time for comfort, for good food and warmth, for the touch of a friendly hand and for a talk beside the fire: it is the time for home.” There is a lot of hidden meaning to this quote which clearly implies that winter is surely not a time to be outdoors. But in today’s world we really cannot be holed up indoors to combat the weather. So we all gear up, get out our woolies and go about our routine despite the icy weather. However all this does take a toll on our skin, hair and lips. Our lips are the worst sufferers as they do not have any oil glands and so there is no protective layer for them. Besides this, the skin of the lips too is not thick and hence they tend to become quite dry and chapped during winters. Chapped lips are an issue which most people face and it is really painful. Ironically most cosmetic products fail to cure this issue and so we share some pointers about how to have soft lips during winter. First of all we need to understand that there is a lot more to winter lip care than meets the eye. We need to tackle the issue of dehydration. For this we need to increase the consumption of water. Often people do not feel very thirsty during winters and hence their water consumption often is lesser than in the summer months. This only compounds the issue of dryness and chapped lips. By drinking adequate amount of water we can ensure that our lips are moisturized from within. Another issue to look into is our diet. The onset of cracked lips is an indication that there is a deficiency of Vitamin B in your daily meal consumption. Unprocessed foods are rich in Vitamin B and you need to add these to your meals. Try eating a banana everyday as this is rich in vitamin B. At the end of the day, all you wish to do is crash into your bed, get into the quilt and drift off after a harrowing day at work. But there is something which you need to do before you sleep. Lubricate your lips before hitting the pillow. Yes, you are right; often people tend to think of beauty treatments only during the day time. But our skin is like a pampered baby that needs to be cared for at all times. The same holds true for your lips as well. Keep an organic lip balm handy and...
