As wavy as the sea, as calm as its depths

Born with wavy hair? While some would say you were lucky, you might not feel so when every morning you try to style it. Enrich Salons says the two most important things to remember are: Use the right shampooHome care, and stay away from hot styling tools. And then there is more that will make your morning routine simpler and your hair more manageable. After finding the right shampoo that suits your hair, you don’t really need to use it every day. Use it only when your hair starts getting greasy. Shampoo right down to the roots, and then follow it up with a volumising conditioner. After you have washed your hair, brush it out. Avoid brushing your curls when they are dry. Moisture is good for wavy hair. Which is whyLeave in products are very importanthot styling tools are a big no no. Throw your blow drier away. Air dry your hair is a good option even though it will take longer to dry, because it will also give your hair the time to absorb the moisture that it needs to stay healthy and voluminous. A misting or nourishing treatment is just what your kind of hair needs. If you have fine hair, use them from the mid section down to the tips. If you have thick hair, use them from the roots till the ends. Use Apropriate  products as per hair types. Gently scrunch your hair with your hands while spraying, with Styling...

What is your hair type? What can you do about it?

What is your hair type? What can you do about it?

You are born with the texture that your hair is today. Which depends mainly on hereditary factors. So there is nothing you can do about that even if you wanted to. The good news is, is that doesn’t stop you from styling your hair the way you want it to be! Enrich Salons shares a few tips and tricks with you about how each type of hair can be styled in different ways and which will help you achieve almost any look you can think of. Hair types can be broadly differentiated into fourkinds. Fine, medium thick, long thick, and curly. Fine hair normally looks shiny, smooth, lifeless and flat. Short or middle length hairstyles help add volume to such hair. Add to the volume by brushing with a big round brush. Using volumising products like mousse and gel sometimes helps. Highlights in different shades also create an illusion of thickness. Try them out. But if you really prefer long hair, tie it in loose braids or try out bangs. If you are lucky, you have medium thick hair which is neither too thick nor too thin. So you can choose any hairstyle just by changing the weight distribution. If you are tall, go for a longer hairstylehowever,Butbobs and shorter styles look equally good. If your hair is thick, then you need to keep it away from your face and hence be careful how you style it. You can go for the very famous Victoria Beckham geometric cut. The geometry and layers will add mobility to your hair and will be easy to manage with a flat brush and blow dryer. The key to style thick hair is to reduce its density. Avoid straight bobs. Try long styles and straighteners. If your hair is curly, you are very lucky. Very few people have this type of hair and it is considered to be a very precious hair type. But, fact of the matter is, curly hair can be a nuisance at times, unless styled properly. Style your curls by taming its wildness without ruining its natural beauty. Ideally, after perfect styling, your curls should settle naturally. Short cuts or shoulder length ones will suit you best. Applying a fortifying mask every three days followed by a styling with mousse will revitalise your curls without adding weight. Do not use hair gels. Also avoid tight...

How to get all eyes on yours

How to get all eyes on yours

You wear your doll shoes, you wear your best dress, you put on some make up, your hair is impeccable, your smile is irrepressible, but yet . . . . . . something is not right. What is it? Well, you forgot to wing in your eyeliner there! Wink! Lining your eyes is like an added touch to twinkle magic into your eyes. So why ignore it when its so easy to apply? Previously we only had brushes to wink an eye liner but today, we have options from Pencil eyeliners, to the roll on one’s to what not! And then, we also have the introduction of colours, shapes, textures and the list goes on! So keeping it easy and stylish, Enrich Salons brings out the best in you with these cues to muse your eye liner. The basic upper line is what you need to consider as the most important line. So try this simplest method – a base line on the upper eyelid line that lies just above the upper eye lashes. Draw from the inner corner of the eye outward and not the other way round. See that your hand does not shiver by keeping your elbow stable on a hard surface and tightening the outer corner of the eye,  with your other hand. When you get good at this, experiment boldening the line by drawing another line above and touching the main line and thickening from the outer end. Bravo! You’re already getting it right! So moving on, let’s talk about different line styles for different types of eyes. If your eyes are set wide apart, draw a classic thin upper eye lid line, and use a pencil on the upper and lower eyelids. Keep the lower eye lid line to one third of the total eye length, from the outer corner. To make your eyes appear closer to each other, draw a dark blue line in the inner corner of the eye. End it with a V, and later try smudging it out with a cotton, to relish a fading effect. If your eyes are too close to each other, then you have to emphasise the corners of your eyes, from the middle of the iris to the outer corner of the eye. How do you do it? Make a convoluted edge on the outer corner – cat eye – see below for more more information – and apply white eye liner towards the inner corner of your eye. Small eyes? No problem. The line along the upper lid will make your eyes appear larger. Draw a one on the outer corner and extend...

Travelling is beautiful, and so are you!

Travelling is perhaps the most enriching experiences you can gift yourself. But sadly, it takes a lot out of you too! It may leave your skin dehydrated, fatigued, sun scorched. It can lead to hollow eyes arising from fatigue and irregular nutritious meals. And if that’s not all, acne takes these opportunities to erupt in all its glory. But don’t worry! We won’t let you suffer this tan! Fearing to see your pretty faces getting busted, Enrich Salons has taken a cue from our in-house Cosmetologist, who advises on how you can treat your face happy to sunshine! Firstly, use plenty of moisturizer whether you are on the mountains or near the seas. Also drink a lot of water, so that you are hydrated both inside and out. Before and after your vacation, consult a dermatologist to give you a quick Restylane Vital Skin booster to help replenish and hydrate the skin, help water retention, and exemplify your glow. Carry a hand sanitiser during your vacation so you transfer less grime to your face when you touch it. This will lead to less acne related problems. Always wash your hands whenever possible. If the acne gets unmanageable, when you get back, ask a doctor if a dose of antibiotics is necessary. Use a non comedogenic lotion that will leave your pores unclogged. If the scars bother you, a Restylane procedure will help. When you are back, replenish your body’s nutrients to get rid of the hollow eyes look. Overdose on sleep and water. Eat lots of fruit and vegetables. A Restylane filler procedure will help fill up the hollows and the effects will last up to a year. Puffy eyes from fatigue can be gotten rid of with plenty of sleep, water and lots of cucumber in your diet and on your eyes. Then, for your hair, you will end up feeling coarse after the vacation because of what you have put it through. So once back, get yourself a deep hydrating hair and scalp massage, apply condition agents like egg and henna, and use a mild shampoo after an oil massage for a few days till your hair feels normal again. Last but not the least, your feet. Feet is what we always tend to ignore, but that’s exactly what does all our travelling! So pamper it a little by applying coconut oil before going off to sleep. It’ll soothen to only make your feet feel loved! So Happy Vacation, until next time...

Just for the Boys. Or is it?

Just for the Boys. Or is it?

Whenever we think of coiffure we think woman. Styles?Woman. Not fair. Here’s to the boys, from Enrich Salons. Firstly, why do men have exclusive hair products specially designed for them? Because nowadays men take a lot more pride in their grooming, and rightly so. Nowadays products are being launched every day taking into account MEN’s hair types, textures and styles. So, ladies, take a backseat, and men read on. Ladies, do not take offence though. After all the men are doing this for you 😉 Firstly, gentlemen, know your hair type. And then choose your hair product and style. If you have medium to thick hair go for shorter hairstyles, with or without lift, and use a gel based product. That way you will need less of the product, and at the same time you will get a manageable  look. If you do want a slicked down look however, with a low side parting, go for a softer paste or modern wax. If you have fine hair, use wax and discard the gel to avoid clumping. Whatever you choose to apply, whether finishing or styling products, rub a little bit of it in your hands and then apply gradually into your hair by pushing through the strands. Add more later if you think you need it. So what are all these products and what do they help you achieve? Wax. This is a highly versatile product as it helps you style your hair in styles that last. From a relaxed look to a controlled look, without too much shine. And you can restyle your hair any time without getting your hands sticky. Gel. Use gel only if you have thick hair as it helps keep your hair in place. Think of Elvis Presley when you think of gel! You can use it both for wet and dry hair and it will help you keep your style on day long as long as you don’t keep touching your hair. Cream. Cream adds naturality along with a bit of lustre. Wavy hair, curly hair or long locks demand cream to bring out their best. Apply on wet hair to avoid frizz. Putty and Clay. Working much like wax, putty and clay works great for messy hair styles, and is suitable for all hair types. They also add volume to thin hair. Pomade. Pomade, a mix between a styler and a conditioner, is slightly oily and gives you great control over your hair, specially for sleeker styles. It’s good for the scalp, and is easy to wash out. What’s more, it goes with all types of hair! Now for some styling tips,...
